Where we are

Safe-Hub is expanding around the world

Globally, Safe-Hub operates 20 hubs across five countries. Originally designed and developed in the Global South, Safe-Hub is now expanding worldwide to meet the unique needs of diverse communities across the globe.
Our roots are proudly in South Africa, where 16 Safe-Hubs are in operation. Eight of these sites are integrated into DBSA Dlab Precincts. Our South African communities include Khayelitsha, Gugulethu-Manenberg, Diepsloot, Alexandra, Jabulani, Thembisa, Knysna, Louwsburg, Waterberg, Marikana, Thembalethu, Sabie and Zwide — with construction still being completed at several of these sites.
In Germany, our Safe-Hub is active in Berlin-Wedding, and in the United States we operate out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Programmes are running in New Delhi, India, and in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire — our youngest hub.

Bring a Safe-Hub to your community

Cities, municipalities, development banks and community organisations can start the conversation about a new site. Safe-Hub is designed to be adapted, not copied.
